300 Meeting Street
West Columbia, SC
This is one of the oldest white table cloth restaurants in Columbia. An "old" restaurant in Columbia is one that has been here more than 20 years. It is northern Italian with fish, chicken, beef, veal and lamb. Although there are function rooms downstairs for receptions, the dining areas are, as the name implies, upstairs. Nice wine selection.
Get there early and you'll have a table overlooking downtown Columbia. Come just before sunset and watch the lights come on downtown and on the Gervais Street bridge.
The wait staff is very competent and the Chef's selections of the day are varied, ranging in price from $16 to $22.
The food is great, but you'll really like the desserts, all of which are made in the restaurant. They claim authentic Key Lime Pie (made with the round Key limes), but we'd like to have more lime flavor in this pie.
Dinner every night but Sunday.
